1. The biggest reason being I don't really enjoy writing for fun.
2. As busy as life gets, I wasn't interested in adding a new to-do item that isn't either necessary or enjoyable.
3. I didn't have any groundbreaking news to share or fascinating subjects to write about.
4. Even if I did have something interesting to share, I didn't know who would read it.
However, all of that changed when a precious baby girl entered our world a little over 5 months ago. Now, all my reasons to never write a blog turned into great reasons to start one.
1. So I still may not enjoy writing, but I definitely enjoy sharing all the new and exciting things that Charlotte is doing lately.
2. Adding a new to-do item that involves pictures and videos of Charlotte sounds like a lot of fun.
3. I now have groundbreaking news and the most fascinating subject to write about. Every burp and hiccup is groundbreaking news to me!
4. I wanted a way for family and friends that don't live nearby to feel more connected to what Charlotte is doing and have an easier way to share pictures and videos.
The primary force that motivated me to actually start this blog was the first video I took of Charlotte rolling over. I posted the second one on facebook, but this one was the first. I was just planning on videoing tummy time, but Charlotte decided she wanted to show off for the camera and I was so surprised. Usually, if she is doing something cute or interesting, I pull out the camera and she stops :) But this time, she decided to start rolling! She had rolled over at random times before this, but this seemed to be the moment that it clicked for her on how it worked. However, she has recently gone on a rolling strike....she may be trying to negotiate more milk for every time she rolls over...we are still discussing it.
So, welcome to our little corner of the world where all things Charlotte will be documented and shared...although, fair warning that Rob and I think her boogers and poop are topics worthy of praise and lengthy conversation. But we'll try to keep that just between us and share the new things she is doing that don't involve her bodily functions.
Coming soon.....why we are the three Balena bears and our first experience with solid food!

What a great idea! I'm THRILLED to be a "The Three Balena Bears" regular subscriber ;0)
ReplyDeleteGo, Charlie Bear, Go! Keep on rolling!! And Mommy Bear keep posting those pix and videos!! ;0)
YAY!!! I have been waiting for this :) Not only is it so gratifying to write about every detail of your precious miracle, but you're also documenting it forever! Charlie will be able to look back at her blog and smile at how much joy her mommy and daddy took from even her little boogers and hiccups :) Love you Balena Bears!
ReplyDeletePS- this is especially exciting for me since I don't have facebook!
Yay! So glad you girls are excited...I wish we all lived in the same place so things like this wouldn't be necessary, but I'm glad that we can stay in touch!
ReplyDeleteLaine, you were my inspiration for starting this...I love seeing all of Ollie's pics and videos SO much!
LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!!!!!
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteThank you for inviting me to your blog. This was specially sweet to hear you gently encourage Charlotte to roll over. And she did it!! At first she looked a bit surprised with herself and then so happy! Those smiles melted my heart.. love from GE!
