I've taken several trips down memory lane this week as I've thought about the transforming adventure that began 6 months ago. When I was pregnant, many people told me that it all seems to go by so fast. Boy, were they right! It's so hard to believe that it's already been 6 months!
I find myself trying to bottle up so many moments lately...seeing the awe in Charlotte's face as she discovers something new (she is fascinated by light when it hits other objects and she just stares and stares at her hands as she moves them in front of her face), hearing Rob and Charlotte laughing together over a silly noise Rob makes (for a recent video of this, click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoyp_n1aFIk), that sleepy face she has when she wakes up from a nap, those tender moments of cuddling that feel so numbered the older she gets. That was one reason I started this blog - thanks for the idea, Lainie! :) I thought it might help to document some of our favorite moments to forever be held in the cyberspace vault for us to revisit whenever we feel nostalgic, which tends to be quite often for me!
So bear with me as I remember some of our best moments from the past months. It will probably take a few posts to fit it all in, but I think I'll begin with the beginning....pregnancy! Take a look at a few of my favorite pictures and videos.
Last May, Ben, Jenny, and I decided to go skydiving. And little did any of us know, but Charlie was with us that day! Look closely at my tummy and you might be able to see her tiny embryo forming.

Here I am around 6 months pregnant, seems fitting to include since Charlotte is now 6 months old.
In November, I was a bridesmaid in my dear friend, Ruth's wedding. We joked that Charlotte was the "hidden bridesmaid" and that I should have pinned a flower to my stomach for her bouquet.
This is one of my favorite pregnancy pictures. Can you tell we were pretty excited?!
Robbie and I took several videos while I was pregnant to document the pregnancy and tell Charlotte about how excited we were to meet her. We were continually hoping for fun pregnancy food craving stories, and this was our first one. It happened on the same day that we heard Charlotte's heartbeat for the first time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_Pf0x3h4QE
We had so much fun getting Charlotte's room ready, and we spent a lot of time painting. Robbie was so sweet to me and figured out how to paint exactly what I wanted, even though it was quite an undertaking for the two of us. We actually really enjoyed doing it and have great memories of listening to Christmas music while we worked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZvEjJLkQ6s
Here is a video around Christmas time that shows me using my tummy as a table, something I had always wanted to do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PBFhwX_ttg
10 days before the due date. We were really ready for her to come, and she must have heard us because she came 4 days later: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5vREObVOXY
I guess that about sums it up. Charlie Bear, being pregnant with you was one of the happiest times of my life, only to be outdone by your birth and the start of our new life with you in it!!!
Coming up next, Charlotte's birth story and first month of life!
